What We Do

WAPID – South Sudan exists to contribute to the global fight against extreme poverty, Ignorance and Diseases through focusing on interventions that break the cycles of inter-generational poverty; empower communities and individuals with skills and knowledge to dismantle the barriers of ignorance and illiteracy and to combat the scourge of diseases in the country. As a community based Organization, we are working with the communities, local government authorities and members of civil society networks through collaborative learning; adaptation and networking to contribute to a world where everyone has the opportunity to live a life filled with learning, health, and economic security—where no one is left behind. We strive to illuminate minds, empower communities, and foster a society where knowledge, health, and prosperity are not privileges, but the inalienable rights of every individual. We work collaboratively through innovative solutions, and unwavering commitment, to dismantle the barriers of ignorance and illiteracy, combat the scourge of diseases, and eradicate the blight of poverty. Our interventions are driven by strategic approaches that inform project successes and sustainability; which include: Interventions to break generational poverty; Community-based integrated Health Care Programs; Results Versus Impacts Based approaches; and Integration of community based psychosocial support approaches.
